A company was introduced in 1948 called Korea National Airlines, now known as Korean Airlines. This was a private company that eventually went bankrupt in 1962. Subsequent to yet another tricky initiation, the structure which Korean Air still uses today was formed in 1969. One extraordinary thing this business has going for it is that their business has increased in size by 150 times after going through their third and final beginning during the late 1960′s. They made their strength of mind to repeat their growth efforts know for the upcoming years. Korean Air has their fair share of aviation industry awards over the years. Time magazine praised them really highly for their flying excellence in the recent past. KAL received a mark of distinction for Best Business Class Airline, plus Best First Class. In addition to that, they have also been considered to have the Best Frequent Flyer Program. For the period of that time, the merit of Best Economy Class Airline was presented to Korean Air Lines by OAG Airline. This seems to include general range of what is ordinarily presented to the flying public.

Korean Air Lines is always upgrading their air fleet. Cargo ferrying, and passenger carriers, are part of their wide variety of aircraft.

They also have a few of their aircraft dedicated to aerospace research and development. It only took a few years for them to go from a domestic service and expand their boundaries in this way. The mid 70s saw new routes to North America as well as Europe once KAL acquired the appropriate aircraft. Traveling to the Pacific Rim and Asia proper, they were the first to purchase an Airbus airliner for this purpose.

Involved with the aerospace industry, Korean Air is also involved with research and manufacturing. They plan to continue to expand in this area because it is one of their strong points. Manufacturing a variety of licensed versions of aircraft, Korean Air Aerospace Division is their research division. For example, the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and MD-500 aircraft are just two examples. They are also involved with similar licensed manufacturing projects for other types of military aircraft. Providing for the transportation needs of the military, Korean Air has obviously gone beyond the public sector. Korean air is occupied by several developmental programs which were put together to aid with the explorations of military aircraft. They work with other countries, such as the US, on a wide variety of military related air and land transportation. From back in the past, this is just a carry-over of something they instigated. Among the aviation industry, they were sensible by broadening themselves in similar segments. For such a large airline business, this was essentially a virtuoso attempt. When you deliberate over it, Korean Air made it easier to guarantee their future, as well as offer additional forms of income. Because of these sorts of air and ground operations, expansion was allowed for their service and fleet destinations.
